Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Matern Staffing is hiring a Mechanical Assembler for a leading designer and manufacturer of automated systems in Fredericksburg, VA.
As a Mechanical Assembler, you'll play a crucial role in assembling high-quality products, ensuring every component fits and functions perfectly. Along the way you’ll use your experience with hand tools and eye for precision, directly contributing to the production of automated systems that drive innovation in the plastics industry. If you have experience or an interest in automotive repair, you’ll find this role especially rewarding.
This is a contract-to-hire position with overtime potential.
Salary:
- $15/hr
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM–10:00 AM
- Overtime is likely over the next few months
- Assemble component parts according to specifications and quality standards
- Fasten, fit, trim, and align parts using various tools, components and techniques
- Solder, lug, route, and tie electrical components
- Learn to test and calibrate units, ensuring top-notch performance
- Inspect assemblies, ensuring compliance with requirements
- Disassemble, rework, repair or replace components as needed to maintain high quality
- Read schematics and follow detailed instructions to complete assemblies
- Experience with hand and power tools; auto mechanic experience is a plus
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong safety focus and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and communication)
- Ability to read schematics for machine components
